"2121" is a multiplayer educational game that nurtures active citizenship among digitally-savvy youth in the 21st century.
This serious games mission is to advance civic literacy and involve young people around the world in becoming informed, engaged, and responsible local and global citizens.
The game is available in English, Arabic and soon French.Set a century from now in a world ravaged by climate change, out-of-control technological progress, and conflicts, "2121" provides an enthralling and secure environment for young players to explore solutions to urgent global challenges.
Participants step into a creatively designed fictional world and are challenged to shape its destiny through collaboration and competition, construction and disruption, failure, and perseverance."2121" has been meticulously crafted as an educational tool to empower Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in their endeavours to enhance civic literacy among young people and women.
The games educational content is a comprehensive curriculum comprising 90 topics, categorized into three strands: dignity, equality, and sustainable development; governance; and active citizenship.
Many of these topics are cross-cutting, providing a wellspring of inspiration and guidance for youth to actively contribute to the discovery of innovative solutions to contemporary challenges.Each topic is introduced through a captivating narrative story woven into the games immersive world, accompanied by a pedagogical text that delivers factual information, practical advice, and deeper insights into the subject matter.
To accommodate users with diverse literacy levels, all content is available in audio format.
The game can be played both online and offline, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of users.As a potent tool for engaging and educating youth, "2121" serves as a cornerstone in training programmes.
